Here we see a Handley Page Hampden of No.144 Squadron being prepared for a raid. Note the crew members entering the aircraft via the rear gun position, using a ladder to climb up the corner of the wing. The squadron is confirmed by the partly visible squadron code, which has to be 'PL', the code for No.144.
