Guards armoured Division in Douai, 1944
Here we see part of the Guards Armoured Division in the main street at Douai, which fell to the British on 2 September 1944. At this point the Allied armies were crossing the famous battlefields of the First World War, and Douai had fallen after an advance across Vimy Ridge.
