Fleet Air Arm aircraft cartwheels into sea

A Fleet Air Arm aircraft (possibly a Mantlet from the shape of wings and tail) cartwheels into the sea, probably after a failed takeoff. The pilot of the aircraft was rescued safely.

Many thanks to David Horne for sending us these pictures, which came from the collection of his father, Peter Horne, who served with the Fleet Air Arm from 1942 to 1946.
