Fitting out Clemson Class Destroyers, Bethlehem, San Francisco

Here we see a group of Clemson class destroyers being fitted out at the Bethlehem Shipbuilding Corps' Union Plant on 1 April 1920. Although it isn't clear at this scale, each of the ships has their hull number and US Navy number painted onto the bows, so from left to right these ships with visible bows can be identified as the Selfridge (DD-320), Chase (DD-323), Mervine (DD-322), Marcus (DD-321), LaVallette (DD-315) and Yarborough (DD-314). In addition there are parts of another four destroyers visible to the left, for a total of ten.
