Signalmen dismantling equipment, Imphal

Signalmen dismantling equipment, Imphal
Here we see two signalmen dismantling their equipment in a well constructed trench somewhere in the Imphal area. This fairly relaxed looking scene was taken after the Japanese attack had been defeated, and the signalmen were going to move forward. Note the tangle of wires coming down the wall of sand bags to the right, showing how complex these systems had become.
