USS Melville (Destroyer Tender No.2), Queenstown, 1917
Here we see the destroyer tender USS Melville (Destroyer Tender No.2 in 1917, later AD-2) at Queenstown, Ireland, in 1917. Alongside her are four destroyers, with (from left to right) the USS Jacob Jones (DD-61), USS Ericsson (DD-56) and USS Wadsworth (DD-60) identified by the numbers painted on their sterns. Jacob Jones and Wadsworth were both Tucker class destroyers, so the Jacob Jones must have been very lightly loaded at this point.
