Here we see one of the most dreaded telegrams of the Second World War, in this stating that Sgt Arnold Aaron Deane was missing in action on the night of 21-22 January 1944 while serving with No.427 Squadron. Luckily Sgt Deane survived and was taken prisoner, as we will see in the next telegram.
