Curtiss Model N from the left
Here we see the Curtiss Model N (army serial no.35) from the left. This aircraft was similar to the Model J apart from the use of a different aerofoil shape for the wings, and the positioning of the ailerons between the wings. Neither of these features was used on the Curtiss JN, but something from this aircraft must have been used to justify the composite name.
