Cockpit on Curtiss NC
Here we see the open pilot's and navigator's cockpits on the Curtiss NC flying boat, which was designed to fly across the Atlantic under its own power to reach the warzone around Britain. These open cockpits can't have been terribly comfortable when NC-4 became the first aircraft to fly across the Atlantic, in May 1919.
