Here we see a very early example of the Curtiss N-9C at Pensacola in November 1916. The N-9C was powered by a Curtiss OX engine, and had a nose radiator and exposed cylinder heads, but lacked the tower radiator of most N-9Hs and the irregular downward pointing exhaust pipes of that model's Hispano-Suiza engine.
