Curtiss F11C-2 Goshawk of VF-1B, 1933-34

The Curtiss F11C-2 Goshawk was the last version of the Curtiss Hawk biplane to enter US service as a fighter, and featured a metal framework for the wings. The F11C-2 was later given a higher rear turtleback rear deck and a partially sliding canopy which covered the rear half of the open cockpit, and in the new configuration became the Curtiss BFC-2. This shot shows the original lower rear deck, and has no canopy.
