Douglas Boston IIIA, July 1944
This Douglas Boston IIIA is seen attacking German fuel dumps near Argentan, 35 miles to the south-east of Caen, during the fighting in July 1944. The aircraft can be (tentatively) identified as a Mk IIIA by the lack of an upper turret and the longer air intakes above the engine cowling. The gun packs on the side of the nose are clearly seen.
