Captured Messerschmitt Bf 109F-2

Here we see a Messerschmitt Bf 109F-2 that made a forced landing near Dover while being flown by the commander of I/JG 26. It was painted in RAF day-fighter camouflage, and is seen here in October 1941 when it was being used by the Air Fighting Development Unit at Duxford. The F-2 was considered to be rather under-armed by its pilots, with two fuselage guns and one gun in the engine.
