First World War era Bersaglieri
The Bersaglieri were formed in Piedmont in 1836 as a force of elite marksman. By the First World War they were seen as high quality light infantry. Here we see a First World War era Bersaglieri examining a position that his transport was about to pass to make sure it was safe.
