Arado Ar 196 on a Catapult
Here we see an Arado Ar 196 reconnaissance aircraft on a catapult on a large warship. Note the tail of a second aircraft seen just below the nose of the main aircraft, and the sizable drop down to the lower deck, with a crewman to give scale.
