US troops landing on Noemfoor
Here we see US forces landing on Noemfoor, sixty miles to the west of Biak on New Guinea. The attack was carried out because of unexpectly fierce Japanese resistance at Biak and saw the Americans land on 2 July 1944 and capture all three Japanese airfields on 6 July
