USS Wisconsin (BB-64) enters AFDB-1, Guam, 1952
Here we see the Iowa class battleship USS Wisconsin (BB-64) entering the floating dry dock USS AFDB-1 in Apra Harbour, Guam on 5 April 1952 for tests. Once the battleship was within the dry dock the doors would be closed and the water pumped out, and the whole structure would rise some way out of the water.
