USS Whipple passing Levensau Bridge, Kiel Canal, 1927
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Whipple passing under the Levensau Bridge on the Kiel Canal in 1927. This was a standard picture of warships, and many Imperial German warships were photographed in the same spot before and during the First World War.
