Aft section of USS Virginia (BB-13), 1919
Here we see the aft section of the Virginia Class battleship USS Virginia (BB-13) at Boston on 5 July 1919, carrying troops who were returning from Europe. The sailors in white stand out from the soldiers in their darker uniforms. In this picture we can see the base of the aft cage mast, and the rear 12in/ 8in turret. Belwo the sailrs are some of the casemates for 6in guns. Also note the bridge being moved into place ready to let the soldiers disembark.
