USS Truxtun (DD-229), 1934, Panama Canal Zone
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Truxtun (DD-229) in the Panama Canal Zone during 1934. A second Clemson class ship is moored behind her, but can't be identified from this picture. Note the uneven distribution of funnels. The Truxtun served in the Atlantic early in the Second World War, but was lost after running aground in Newfoundland on 18 February 1942.
