Here we see the Gearing class destroyer USS Theodore E Chandler (DD-717) in the Pacific on 2 October 1969, early in a deployment off the coasts of Vietnam. The crew are at quarters, suggesting that she was entering or leaving port when the picture was taken. A large group are using the helicopter landing pad, which was about to become redundant as the DASH anti-submarine drone was being withdrawn from service at the time.
