USS Sumner (DD-333) at Hawaii, late 1920s
Here we see the Clemson Class Destroyer USS Sumner (DD-333) off Hawaii at some point in the late 1920s. The Sumner visited the islands on several occasions, ususally to take part in the annual Fleet Problem when it was carried out in that area. Note the sun awning in front of the bridge, providing shelter against the Hawaiian sun.
