Steel Funnel Covers on USS Stoddert (DD-302)
Here we see the steel funnel covers added to the Clemson class destroyer USS Stoddert (DD-302) when she was being used as a radio controlled target for aircraft training. They were installed to prevent the dummy bombs dropping down the funnel and damaging the machinery.
