USS Southard (DD-207), Mare Island Navy Yard, 1943
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Southard (DD-207) after she had been converted into a high speed minesweeper as DMS-10. Note the mine sweeping equipment on her fantail, the high angle AA guns that have replaced her original main guns by 1943 and the removal of one of her four funnels.
