USS Selfridge (DD-357) from above, 1944
Here we see the rear half of the Porter class destroyer USS Selfridge (DD-357) from above at the Mare Island Navy Yard, on 8 April 1944. From this angle we get a good view of her two depth charge racks, and also her modified rear armament - the Porter class destroyers were built with four twin gun mounts, but herewe can see that her third mount has been replaced with a single gun in a much smaller mounting.
