USS Saratoga (ACR-2)

USS Saratoga (ACR-2)
This picture shows the armoured cruiser USS Saratoga (ACR-2), at some point in 1914-16. The Saratoga was originally called USS New York, but her name was changed in 1911 to allow that name to be used on the battleship USS New York (BB-34). ACR-2 was renamed as the Rochester on 1 November 1917, and the name was allocated to the new battlecruiser Saratoga, which was eventually completed as the aircraft carrier Saratoga (CV-3).
