USS Preble (DD-345) flying homeward bound pennant
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Preble (DD-345) flying her homeward bound pennant (the long flag dragging in the water) at the end of her time on the Asiatic station, probably in 1929. Note a large part of the crew lined up on the forward deck, although not in the most formal of lines.
