USS Pope (DD-225) off Luzon, 1924
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Pope (DD-225) during a high speed run off Luzon on 15 January 1924, not too long after she joined the Asiatic Fleet. Note the open bridge, with the cluster of officers and crew looking rather exposed.
