USS Pennsylvania (BB-38) in floating drydock
Here we see the Pennsylvania class battleship USS Pennsylvania (BB-38) in a floating dry dock somewhere in the Pacific in 1944. This was one of a series of massive floating dry docks designated as ABSD or Advance Base Sectional Dock, which could cope with ships of up to 90,000 tons.
