Crew of USS Pennsylvania (BB-38), 1931
Here we see the officers and crew of the Pennsylvania class battleship USS Pennsylvania (BB-38) at the Philadelphia Navy Yard on 30 July 1931. This was at the end of a big refit in which she was given a new enlarged bridge, which is covered with men here. Perhaps the most impressive feature of this picture is just how many men could fit on top of her main gun turrets!
