USS Ommaney Bay (CVE-79) about to enter Floating Dry Dock ABSD-2
Here we see the Casablanca class escort carrier USS Ommaney Bay (CVE-79) about to enter Floating Dry Dock ABSD-2 at Manus on 22 November 1944. Earlier in the month she had been damaged by flying fragments from the ammo ship Mount Hood, which exploded at anchor on 10 November 1944, so this might have been to repair some of that damage.
