USS Nicholas (DD-311), San Francisco Bay 1923
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Nicholas (DD-311) in San Francisco Bay on 1 September 1923. One week later, on 8 September, she was one of the destroyers lost in the Honda Point disaster, although the entire crew survived. In the background we can see the forward part of a New Mexico class battleship.
