Here we see the Iowa Class battleship USS New Jersey (BB-62) passing under the western section of the Bay Bridge at San Francisco on 24 June 1969. This connects San Francisco to Yerba Buena Island, from where this picture was taken. The eastern span connects the island to Oakland.
