USS Minneapolis (CA-36) with New Bow, 11 April 1943
Here we see the new bow of the New Orleans class heavy cruiser USS Minneapolis (CA-36) , at Pearl Harbor on 11 April 1943. She lost her original bow at the Battle of Tassafaronga (30 November 1942) but survived and reached safety, and was able to return to service impressively quickly
