Here we see the damage caused to the forward berthing compartment of the South Carolina class battleship USS Michigan (BB-27) by an explosion in a 12in gun of turret two. The explosion has blasted a hole in the metal sides of the compartment and bent back large pipes. A small part of the gun can be seen next to one of the pillars on the right.
