Here we see a Vought UO-1 floatplane being lowered from the Omaha class light cruiser USS Memphis (CL-13) . This was clearly an unusual enough procedure to have attracted the attention of several of the crew.

Nicely organised, with the wartime service records separated out from the main text, so that the design history of the light cruisers flows nicely.
