Aft Deck of USS Massachusetts (BB-59), Casablanca, 1942
Here we see the view forward along the aft deck of the South Dakota class battleship USS Massachusetts (BB-59) during a gap in the fighting off Casablanca on 8 May 1942, at the start of Operation Torch. Her single rear 16in turret can be seen, as can many of the 5in guns clustered around the superstructure.
