Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Long (DD-209) being towed out of storage at San Diego on 21 September 1929, ready to be recommissioned in 1930. This picture gives a good idea of just how many Clemson class destroyers were out of commission at the time, shown by the forest of masts behind the Long.
