Here we see the Wickes class destroyer USS Little (DD-79) in the inner harbour at Brest on 27 October 1918. Note the unshielded aft gun and the torpedo tubes, seen just to the right of the picture. To the right of the Little is the 1,000 tonner Monaghan class destroyer USS Jarvis (DD-38)
