USS Litchfield (DD-336) in Dry Dock
Here we see the Clemson Class Destroyer USS Litchfield (DD-336) in the dry dock at the New York Navy Yard in October-November 1923. This picture gives us a good view of her propeller guards, and of part of one propeller, as well as the depth charge rack on her stern. From this angle the sides of the dry dock look alarmingly steep! The original caption suggests that DD-303 can also be seen, but whatever the ship with 303 painted on her is, she certainly isn't a Clemson class destroyer!
