Commissioning Ceremony for USS Liscome Bay (CVE-56)
Here we see the commissioning ceremony for the Casablanca class escort carrier USS Liscome Bay (CVE-56) on 7 August 1943. Her new commanding officer, Captain Irving D. Witse, is the middle of the three figures, with a rear-admiral to his right and a commander to his left.
