Here we see the Lexington class battlecruiser USS Lexington (CC-1/ CV-2) being launched on 3 October 1925, by which time it had already been decided to complete her as an aircraft carrier instead of as a battlecruiser. However from this angle her original battlecruiser hull still dominates.
