Inside Hanger of USS Langley (CV-1), 1920s
Here we see the view inside the hanger on the first American aircraft carrier, USS Langley (CV-1) at some point in the 1920s. On the near-right we see a Douglas DT torpedo bomber with its wings removed. The smaller aircraft are Vought VE-7 fighters of squadron VF-2. The open sides of the hanger make it light and airy, but must have made life difficult in heavy seas.
