Bridge and forward fire control, USS Iowa (BB-61)
Here we see the bridge and forward fire control positions of the Iowa class battleship USS Iowa (BB-61), seen when she was off San Francisco in July 1947. The fire control position includes modern radar systems and a large optical range finder, while the bridge had both the glazed enclosed section and an open bridge above it.
