USS Hulbert (DD-342) with damaged bow, 1922
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Hulbert (DD-342) with a rather badly damaged bow, at some point during 1922. This picture must have been taken before she departed for the Far East on NN, as the minesweeper USS Rail (AM-26), which can be seen to the left, spent 1922 in home waters. The split open part of the bow gives is a rare view of her internal framework - the size of the crewmen above proves that these aren't some of her rooms.
