Crew of U-505 being hosed down on USS Guadalcanal (CVE-60)
Here we see some of the survivors of U-505 being cooled down with salt water on the Casablanca class escort carrier USS Guadalcanal (CVE-60) after they were captured on 4 June 1944. The submarine was captured intact and taken into US service as USS Nemo.
