Here we see the crew of the Virginia class battleship USS Georgia (BB-15) taking on coal at the Charleston Naval Yard in 1919. This was one of the dirtier and least popular jobs on coal powered ships, with all of the crew taking part. We are looking down onto her port 8in gun turret.
