USS Gambier Bay (CVE-73), April 1944
Here we see the Casablanca class escort carrier USS Gambier Bay (CVE-73) in port in April 1944. This was after her first trip to the Pacific to ferry aircraft, and would have been taken somewhere on the California coast. From this low angle we can see the low stern of the original design.
