USS Farquahar (DD-304) and USS Relief (AH-1) in Panama Canal, 1927
Here we see the Clemson class destroyer USS Farquhar (DD-304) and the hospital ship USS Relief (AH-1) about to pass through the Gatun locks on the Panama Canal on 11 June 1927. This picture will have been after Fleet Problem VII of March 1927, which saw the US fleet conduct a mock attack on the Panama Canal. The Farquahar visited New York after the exercises, before returning to San Diego.
