USS De Haven (DD-469), Savo Island, 30 January 1943
Here we see one of the last pictures of the Fletcher class destroyer USS De Haven (DD-469), taken off Savo Island on 30 January 1943. She was sunk by Japanese aircraft on 1 February 1943 while escorting two LCTs back to their base after a landing on Guadalcanal.
